Lime Springs Bank robber in custody
Update, Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019, 4:15 p.m.
LIME SPRINGS - An armed gunman has been taken into custody in Austin, Minn. around 3-3:30 p.m. after robbing the Lime Springs branch of CUSB Bank noted Howard County Sheriff Mike Miner. The suspect's name has not been released.
It took less than four hours to catch the robber.

Howard County Sheriff Mike Miner said, "Nobody was hurt. An intruder walked into the bank (CUSB-Lime Springs) and produced a gun." He said it could have happened about noon. He got the call and took off.
The individual who called 911 was on the phone with one of the employees. "I called to ask some questions. '(The employee) said excuse me. We are being held up.' She then hung up the phone. That's not like her. I called 911 right away. They said there weren't any alarms, but I said it was happening." The 911 caller then went downtown to see if he/she could get a license plate.

The Sheriff's Department and Iowa State Patrol have a possible lead on the robber and are currently trying to look at the video inside the bank.
Miner stated the bank is looking at getting a counselor for the employees. On a regular day, there are three tellers and three loan officers; four females and two males.
