Snowmobile accident kills one

Lime Springs - At 1:40 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, a call went out regarding a snowmobile accident on Major Road. The driver of the 2015 Polaris snowmobile was Ross Wilson, age 28, of Cresco, Iowa.
According to Howard County Sheriff Mike Miner, Wilson was traveling east on Major Road when he lost control of his snowmobile. The vehicle rolled over him.
Mr. Wilson was traveling alone at the time of the accident. He was found by another snowmobiler riding the trails. The trail runs on the side of the road at this location.
Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene by Howard County Medical Examiner.
Howard County Ambulance, along with Lime Springs Fire Department assisted at the scene. The accident remains under investigation by the Howard County Sheriff’s office.
