CRESCO - Agnes McGee, age 89, of Cresco, Iowa passed away on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, at Accura Healthcare of Cresco. 

A visitation for Agnes will be held at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Cresco, on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019 from 3:30-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Notre Dame Catholic Church on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, at 11 a.m. with Father Jacob Rouse officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Notre Dame Catholic Church one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Agnes Lillian McGee, daughter of John and Lillian (Pecinovsky) Stepan, was born on Dec. 28, 1929, in Howard County, Iowa. She attended the country school at Jackson Junction #1 until the eighth grade. On Sept. 21, 1948, she married Glenn Hyke at Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, Iowa. They were married until his passing on July 4, 1965. Agnes later married Gerald McGee on Aug. 26, 1966 in Gilbertville, Iowa until his passing on Aug. 30, 1991. 

She was an active member of the Rosary Society. She enjoyed playing cards and Bingo and being part of the card club, as well as babysitting. Agnes truly loved Polka music, going Polka dancing and was a regular listener to the Saturday Morning Polka Show. She also had a seat on the Catholic school board in the early 1980s. She enjoyed life on the family farm and being a housewife and mother to 11 children. 

Agnes is survived by her children, Marcella (Barry) Linde of Ankeny, Iowa, Francis (Audrey) Hyke of Cresco, Lester (Debra) Hyke of Urbana, Iowa, Margaret Wright of Aurora, Colo., Dennis (Suzanne) Hyke of Preston, Minn., Kenneth (Susan) Hyke of Nevada, Iowa, Gordon (Carrie) Hyke of Urbandale, Karen Hyke of Cresco, Richard (Teresa) McGee of Cresco, Steve (Vivian) McGee of Des Moines, Iowa and Maureen (Randy) Reinhart of Cresco; brothers, T.J. Stepan of Nashua, Iowa, Edward Stepan of West Union, Iowa and W.W. Stepan of St. Louis, Mo.; sister, Lillian Karnik of Spillville; 19 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Glenn; her second husband, Gerald; grandchildren, Tina Hyke, Angela Hyke, Megan Hyke and Randy Wright; and great-granddaughter, Ashley Lucas.
