Crestwood girl golfers advance to State Meet

LAKE MILLS - Competing at the Class 2A Second Round of Regionals on May 20, the Crestwood girls’ golf team made school history by placing second overall and becoming the first Cadet golf team to qualify for the State Golf Meet.
The 2026 State Golf Meet will be held May 28-29 at the American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown. The first round is set to start at 9 a.m. on May 28.
The Cadets shot an impressive round of 352 to finish second at regionals on May 20, just seven strokes behind first place New Hampton. Woodward-Granger took third place at 366, Emmetsburg was fourth at 400 and Pochhontas Area was fifth at 411.
Individually, Crestwood junior Ainsley Teeling carded a stellar 18-hole round of 71 to earn runner-up medalist honors. Kirsten Nuss of New Hampton nabbed medalist honors with a score of 69.
Cadet sophomores Addison Moellers carded an 87 to place seventh and teammate senior Kenzie Moellers shot a 90 to take ninth place overall.
Other Cadet scores included: Kiernan Ruppert 104, Peyton Ullom 110 and Zoey Mehmert 123.
The top 10 individuals at the Second Round of Regionals included: 1. Nuss (NH) 69; 2. Teeling (CW) 71; 3. Calista Joyce (Em) 79; 4. Mallory Polito (WG); 5. Alivia Geerts (NH) 83; 6. Azlyn Amonson (EG) 84; 7. Addison Moellers (CW) 87; 8. Lilly Hecht (Estr) 90; 9. Kenzie Moellers (CW) 90; 10. Ella Chambers (WG) 93.
