Formerly Cresco - Arthur “Allan” Peterson, age 80, formerly of Cresco, Iowa passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 in St. Paul, Minn.

Allan was born at home, on the Iowa side of the Minnesota town of Granger on April 27, 1938. He grew up in his beloved Cresco, the son of Arthur R. Peterson and Malinda L. DeGrave.
He worked for Standard Oil as a territory manager before becoming a successful small business owner, running two Amoco Oil service stations for over 25 years.
Allan was a natural athlete and enjoyed all sports, whether he was playing the game, teaching someone (usually a kid) the skills to play or enjoying a friendly wager on the game.
He particularly enjoyed football and golf. Allan was an avid fisherman! He taught an awful lot of friends and family members how to trout fish and how to walk a stream.
It was a right of passage to be old enough to go trout fishing with Baump! Allan brought so much fun to life, both his and others!
Loved and adored by so many, Allan is survived by his children, Lindee and Mike Parson of Lakeville, Minn., Shelly Dahlvang of Knoxville, Tenn., Suzanne and Tony DiPerna of Elko New Market, Minn. and Eric and Seher Peterson of St. Paul; his grandchildren, Gray and Emillee Parson of Maple Grove, Minn., Luke Parson and Ashley Zachow of W. St. Paul and Ada and Altan Peterson of St. Paul; his sister, Marilyn Wildman of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and oh so many nieces, nephews and people who have been blessed to call him friend.
In lieu of flowers, Allan’s family requests donations be made to Our Lady of Peace Hospice.
