LIME SPRINGS - Connie Goodman, age 58, of Lime Springs, Iowa passed away on Monday, Feb. 10, 2020 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, 2020 at the Saratoga (Iowa) Community Church. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco, Iowa and on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Connie was born on March 6, 1961 in La Crosse, Wis. to Willard and Leona (Burmeister) Harmon. She graduated from Harmony (Minn.) High School in 1979, and from there she went on to complete a two-year course in Horticulture at the University of Minnesota in Waseca, Minn. Growing up, she always enjoyed her family’s annual fishing trips to Kabetogama Lake in northern Minnesota. Connie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at roughly the age of 12 and tried to live her life as a testimony to His saving grace.
She married Brian Goodman on Sept. 5, 1992 at St. Paul, Big Spring Lutheran Church of rural Harmony.
After completing her Horticulture course, Connie began working full-time at Plantpeddler in Cresco in 1982. In 1995, she went to part-time, so she could spend more time raising her children. She continued at Plantpeddler for as long as her health would allow.
Connie enjoyed needlework, reading, cooking and baking, playing piano and organ, along with helping Brian on the farm. She started as an accompanist at the Big Spring church in her high school years and continued as an assistant accompanist at Saratoga Community Church after being married.
Connie is survived by her husband, Brian of Lime Springs; three children, Laura (Kyle) Ott and their daughter Samantha, of Marble Rock, Iowa, Matthew (fiancé Elaina Balk) of Ames, Iowa and Sharon Goodman of Lime Springs; and a brother, Randy (Roxy) Harmon of Ellsworth, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Callie Lee and Nina Van De Linde.
Memorials may be directed to Howard County Cancer Association, Saratoga Community Church Building Fund or Howard County Community Hospice.
