Cresco - Gary P. Dotzler, age 62, of Cresco, Iowa, died Friday, March 23, 2018, at Iowa City VA Health Care System in Iowa City, Iowa.

Funeral services for Gary will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Cresco, with Rev. Tim Sir officiating. Burial will take place in Howard Center Cemetery, rural Cresco. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30-11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Gary Paul Dotzler was born on Nov. 22, 1955, in Cresco, the son of John and Lois (Peterson) Dotzler. He enlisted into the United States Army in 1975. He was employed by Malli Construction for many years and then later at Featherlite. 

Gary was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and liked to watch the Packers games and NASCAR. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing and gardening. 

He is survived by his siblings, Janet Neubauer of Cresco, Shirley (Jerry) Hudecek of Mason City, Iowa, David Dotzler of Elma, Iowa, Mary (Ralph) Flugge of Cresco, Dale Dotzler of Cresco, Arlene Dotzler of Cresco, Kathy (Fred) Aberg of Hartford, Iowa, Scott Dotzler of Cresco and Kenny Dotzler of Cresco; a brother-in-law, Harold Meyer of Cresco; and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Angela; sister, Diane Meyer; brother-in-law, Zachary Neubauer; and two nieces, Brenda Neubauer and Alicia (Aberg) Ellis.
