Cresco - Margaret M. Pisny, age 98 of Cresco, Iowa and formerly of Chester, Iowa passed away Friday morning, Aug. 3, 2018 at Accura Care Center in Cresco.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 6, 2018 at Notre Dame Church in Cresco, followed with burial in Calvary Cemetery in Cresco. Friends may call on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church. Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco is assisting the family.Margaret M. Pisny was born on Sept. 24, 1919 to John J. and Josephine (Bouska) Meyer in rural Lime Springs, Iowa. She attended Lime Springs Public School through the eighth grade, then helped her parents on the family farm until her marriage to Joseph J. Pisny on March 27, 1940 in St. Stephens Catholic Church in Chester. Joseph preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1991. 

Margaret was an active member of the Altar and Rosary Societies of St. Stephens, of which she was a life-long member, until the church’s closing. She then became a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church. Margaret was also a charter member of the Chester Senior Citizens. In 2010 she moved to Accura Care Center, where she enjoyed all of its activities.

Margaret is survived by one sister, Elaine Munkel of Cresco; and a sister-in-law, Ione Meyer of Cresco; along with nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph; siblings, Luella (Dr. Jack) Frost, Wilma F. (Mose) Owen, Edward (Edith) Meyer, Earl and Robert Meyer; and a brother-in-law, Lawrence Munkel.
