CRESCO -  Patricia L. Fisher, age 77, of Cresco, Iowa, died Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Colonial Manor in Elma, Iowa. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2017, at Notre Dame Parish in Cresco. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Lourdes, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. Friday, July 28, at the church. Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Cresco, is assisting the family.

Patricia Louise Conway was born Feb. 27, 1940, the daughter of James E. and Ellen K. (Thomsen) Conway, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The family moved to Elma, where she graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy. 

On June 28, 1958, she married James J. Fisher at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elma. The couple settled in Crete, Ill.. For 20 years Patricia worked as a secretary for Irwin Dorsey Press, a book publisher. In 1996, the couple moved to Cresco.

Pat thoroughly enjoyed her retirement, volunteering countless hours to various organizations and her community. Furthering her own dedication to genealogy, and connecting with individuals world-wide, she was a driven researcher for the Latter-Day Saints Genealogy Library, Salt Lake City, Utah and Ancestry.com. As the community’s point of contact for State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), she was highly knowledgeable and guided many in the right direction to their suitable plan(s). 

Pat appreciated the simple things and always kept busy, never being bored. From sewing, ceramics and stitching, there was little she enjoyed more than gifting friends and family with her beautiful, dedicated creations, many of which were consistently recognized with ribbons at the Mighty Howard County Fair. 

She cherished endless laughter and time with her family. When fortunate to spend time with her siblings, it wasn’t uncommon they’d be playing cards into the wee hours of the night.

Pat is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Janette) Fisher of Lindenhurst, Ill. and Laurie Jermaczonak of Redmond, Ore.; grandchildren, Steffanie Fisher of Victoria, B.C., Nikki Jermaczonak of San Diego, Calif. and Krystina Jermaczonak of Redmond; and siblings, Linda (John) Angstman of Dumont, Iowa, Myrna Colsch of New Albin, Iowa, Donald (Camilla) Conway of Cresco, Kay Conway of Bloomington, Minn. and Larry (Arnold) Conway of San Diego.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
