CRESCO - Rick Buck Jr., age 63 of Cresco, Iowa, passed away on his birthday, Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Regional Health Services of Howard County in Cresco.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 30 at First Congregational Church in Cresco, followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery, Cresco. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of services. Lindstrom Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Richard O. Buck Jr. was born on May 25. 1956 in Waterloo, Iowa to Richard O. and Delores (Swender) Buck Sr. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Cresco in 1976. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1976-1978; part of that time he was stationed in Germany. He married Rochel Moellers on April 15, 1978 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cresco.
Rick worked in construction and maintenance. His primary hobby was woodworking; if it could be made, he’d make it . . . any size project, small or large. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and always looked forward to Buck family camping get-togethers. He loved driving around with his faithful companion and side kick, GG.
Rick is survived by two daughters, Crystal (Brad) Stevenson and Kelsey Buck, both of Cresco; four grandchildren, Haley, Olivia, Blake and Lathen Stevenson, all of Cresco; his father, Richard Buck Sr. of Cresco; and two sisters, Becky Creger of Cresco and Deb (Brad) Curtis of Kasson, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rochel in 2016; his mother; and a sister, Dee Anna Collier.
