Bob always enjoyed working with his painting business, and he and Jane had a large garden from which they sold tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, cabbage and zucchini. Together they sold many vegetables from their produce stand, which was at their home.
In the fall and winter months, Bob would always find time to watch a Hawkeyes basketball game. He was very faithful to his church, First Baptist, serving as deacon, trustee, usher and Sunday School teacher.
