Formerly CRESCO - Rose Marie Heins, age 76, of Kohler, Wis. passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday morning, Oct. 17, 2017 at St. Nicholas Hospital.
Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 3, 2017 at Lindstrom Funeral Home, Cresco, Iowa, from 9-11 a.m. The memorial service immediately follows at 11 a.m., with Pastor Dennis Hanson from Nazareth Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Cresco afterwards. A luncheon will follow at the VFW Hall in Cresco.
Rose Marie Teetshorn was born on April 22, 1941 in Cresco, to Earl and Gladys (Sandvik) Teetshorn. She attended a one-room country school until ninth grade, then graduated from Cresco High in 1959.
Rose was united in marriage to Frederick James Heins on Dec. 17, 1960. They moved the next year to Cedar Falls, Iowa and raised two sons. Frederick worked many occupations, and she was a devoted homemaker. She started working as a bookkeeper for Construction Machinery Company for three years, Bankers Life for one year and then Control-o-Fax Corporation in Cedar Falls, Iowa as the Senior Payroll Administrator for 20 years. After their sons graduated from high school, the couple acquired Casino Express/Limousine Service, in which they were in business for 12 years prior to retiring in Cedar Falls.
Rose and Fred enjoyed camping, bowling and Bible studies. Rose loved her hobbies of ceramics, needlework and creating fabric memorabilia for her family and friends. She was also an avid reader in her retirement.
They were members of Nazareth Lutheran Church for 44 years.
Rose is survived by her spouse, Fred of Kohler; her children, Craig (Sonja) Heins, MD of Kohler and Leigh (Betsy) Taylor of Farmington, Minn.; and grandchildren, Karianna Heins, Isabelle Heins, Benjamin Heins, Olivia Taylor, Harrison Taylor and Noah Taylor.
Rose was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys, and father, Earl.
