Thomas Necas Sr., 67

CRESCO - Thomas A. “Tom” Necas Sr., age 67, of Cresco passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Regional Health Services of Howard County.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Cresco at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019, with Father Jacob Rouse officiating.   Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. 

Thomas Allen Necas Sr. was born on March 20, 1952, son of Leslie and Virginia (Farnsworth) Necas in Cresco.  Tom enlisted into the Navy and served during the Vietnam War.  He loved working for Notre Dame School as a custodian.  Tom took pride in creating a nice clean environment for the children and staff at school.  His beloved dog, Whoopy, was a constant companion, who brought him joy.  Tom liked to watch movies and cheer on the Minnesota Vikings.  He also had a love for owls and had owl decorations all throughout his home.

He is survived by his children Jeanie Castaneda of Laredo, TX, and Thomas Necas Jr. of Waterloo, 6 sisters and brothers Carolyn (John) McIntosh of Broomfield, Colo., Leslie (Mary) Necas of Denver, Iowa, Duane (Lisa) Necas of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Sandra (Dennis) Liekweg of Janesville, IA, Lori (Darrel) Andera of Cresco, and Jean (Nancy Miller) Necas of Garden Grove, Calif., many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.   

He was preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Virginia and infant daughter Tara.
