Timothy “Marlon” Jay Brandau was born Aug. 6, 1961 in Osage, Iowa to Jerald Brandau and Sandra (Kallestad) Brandau. He attended Riceville (Iowa) High School. His mom stated he was born with dirty hands, and everyone who knew him, knew this would never change. He spent his life doing things he enjoyed—working on every size and make of motorcycle, to every size and model of Caterpillars. His favorite pastime was spending days on end in his shop “piddle farting around,” restoring antique bulldozers, trucks and motorcycles. He enjoyed traveling to out of the way antique stores, junk yards and fields, always hoping to bring home that good deal.
He is survived by Kristy, “The best wife he never had;” his parents, Jerry Brandau and Sandra Brandau, both of Cresco; sisters, Naomi Brandau of Spring Valley, Minn. and Holly (Joe) Mooney of Lone Tree, Iowa; brother, Troy Brandau of Cresco; one son, Brian (Loralei) Brandau, and granddaughter, Cora of Riceville; one daughter, Autumn Horsman of Stewartville, Minn.; nephews, Dalton, Dylan and Justin; and one niece, Autumn.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his brother, Todd.
