CRESCO - Wendel C. Slifka, age 57, of Cresco, Iowa died Monday, Dec. 25, 2017 at his home in Cresco.
Services will be at a later date. Lindstrom Funeral Home, Cresco, is assisting the family.
Wendel was born June 17, 1960 in Waterloo, Iowa to Martin and Joann (Saathoff) Slifka. He was a graduate of Cedar Falls High School. Most of his life, he lived in New Hartford, Iowa, La Crosse, Wis. or the Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Iowa area.
Wendel was a train enthusiast and could identify any train engine he saw. He had the opportunity to work as a train engineer when he lived in La Crosse.
He is survived by his father, Martin Slifka and friend Nedra Peterson of Cresco; his mother, Joann Slifka of Waterloo; a sister, Wanda (Gary) Lenius of Mesa, Ariz.; and numerous cousins and other relatives.
