Crestwood girls’ basketball team downs New Hampton, SW; falls to Waukon; playoff pairings set

CRESCO - The Crestwood girls’ basketball team won two of three conference games last week.
The Cadets crushed New Hampton, 57-46, on Feb. 2 at home; lost to Waukon, 33-36, in overtime on Feb. 3 on the road; and routed South Winn, 61-47, on Feb. 5 at home to improve to 11-9.
Crestwood will host New Hampton (9-10) in the first round of the Class 3A Region 4 Tournament at 7 p.m. on Feb. 14. The winner will play either Center Point-Urbana (11-8) or Charles City (1-17) on Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. at CP-U.
The Region Final is scheduled for Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. at the site of the highest ranked remaining team. In the other side of the bracket Dubuque Wahlert (14-4) will play NFV (5-14) and Waukon (10-9) will play Oelwein (12-6) on Feb. 14.
