Crestwood girls’ track team sails to win at home meet

 CRESCO - On a perfect spring day for a meet, the Crestwood girls’ track team was nearly perfect in several events during their home invitational on April 18 as the Cadets cruised to a first place team finish with 176 points. Waukon was a distant second with 125 points.
The Cadets captured first place in eight events on their way to the team title including: 100 dash (Charley Curtis, 13.15); 200 (Curtis, 27.34); 400 (Lily Troendle, 1:05.12); 1500 (Kinze Shea, 5:28.59); 3000 (Shea, 11:35.50); 4x100 relay (52.77); sprint medley (1:59.78); and distance medley (4:39.92).
In the Junior Varsity meet, Sarah Anderson was first in the 200 in 31.11; Ella Bergan took first in the high jump at 4 feet, 6 inches; Emma Godman was first in the long jump at 12-8.25; the 4x100 relay team won gold in 57.74; the 4x200 was first in 2:07.66; the sprint medley took first in 2:13.92; and the distance medley was first in 5:32.83.
