Crestwood wrestling team wins Sectional Tourney, eight Cadets advance to districts

DECORAH - The Crestwood wrestling team turned in an awesome performance at the Class 2A Sectional Tournament in Decorah as the Cadets won the team title with 233 points and had eight individual finish in the top two to advance to the District Tournament on Feb. 15 at New Hampton. The eight who advanced included: Nathaniel Bigalk (106), Carter Fousek (113), Cole Butikofer (120), Matthew Slifka (126), Chase Thomas (132), Hunter Bye (160), Trey Burnikel (220) and Wyatt Scheidel (285). By winning the Sectional Tourney, the Cadets qualify for the Class 2A Region Team Dual Tournament on Feb. 11 at a site to be determined by the Iowa High School Athletic Union on Feb. 9.
