Goodman earns Academic All-Big Ten honors

IOWA CITY - Sharon Goodman of Lime Springs, a 2020 Crestwood graduate and currently a sophomore on the University of Iowa Women’s Basketball team, was named to the 2021-22 Big Ten Winter Academic All-Conference Team.
Goodman was unable to play for the Hawkeyes during the 2021-22 season because of an ACL injury she suffered before the season started. During the 2020-21 season, Goodman averaged nine minutes played per game, scored a season-high 12 points during a game against Western Illiniois, and she connected on 83 percent of her free throw attempts.
During her high school career, Goodman led the Cadets in points scored (1,798), rebounds (817) and blocks (266). She also earned First Team All-Northeast Iowa Conference Honors three times (2018-20), grabbed First Team All-State honors twice (2019-20), helped lead the Cadets to three State Tournament appearances (2017-19) and played a key role in Crestwood’s 3A State Championship in 2018.
A total of 47 University of Iowa student-athletes were been named to the 2021-22 Big Ten Winter Academic All-Conference team.
Sharon is the daughter of Brian and the late Connie Goodman.
