Lienhard earns softball honors at NIACC

MASON CITY - North Iowa Area Community College freshman Laken Lienhard (utility/pitcher) was selected to the all-NFCA NJCAA Division II Midwest Region second team. She is a 2020 graduate of Crestwood High School.
Lienhard, who was a First Team All-NJCAA Region XI Division II pick, hit .436 with 14 home runs, 12 doubles, 30 runs batted in and 23 stolen bases during the 2021 season. The 14 home runs ranks third on NIACC’s all-time single-season list.
Lienhard, who was 8-15 as a pitcher, had a 3.39 earned run average in 142.1 innings pitched. She struck out 156 batters, which ranks third on the school’s single-season strikeout list.
