Cadets 76, MFL 25
Crestwood raced to a 20-point lead in the first period and built a 55-15 halftime lead en route to an impressive 76-25 win over MFL-Mar-Mac Friday at home.
“Our defense played well and we shot the lights out during the first half,” Coach Sickles said. “When we share the ball and shoot the ball as well as we did tonight against MFL, we’re a tough team to beat.
“We are not sticking to one single offense right now. Emily Friesen hit four three-pointers during the first half, which sparked us. MFL was trying to take Sharon Goodman away (with our offense), but she still finished with 24 points. This was an overall good team win. We know that MFL is an athletic team, and we know that we need to be solid in our fundamentals. Our kids were outstanding,” Sickles said.

Cadets 65, Lyle-Pacelli 53
After falling behind early, Crestwood rallied back strong to earn a 65-53 win over Minnesota’s No. 1-ranked Lyle-Pacelli on Saturday at Luther College.
L-P took an 18-14 first quarter lead before the Cadets went on a 25-10 second quarter run to take a 39-28 halftime lead. Crestwood led 53-43 after three periods.
“Even though Lyle-Pacelli jumped out to an early lead, we didn’t panic,” Sickles said. “I think that was a big key for us. Our girls made some good defensive adjustments during the game.
“Another key for us was going on a run in the second quarter and hitting our shots. We had some good inside and outside shooting. Our defense and Brynn Bodermann hitting a couple big three-pointers gave us a spark. We played well at both ends of the court,” Sickles said.
Shannon Pisney finished with 22 points. Ellie Friesen had 17 points, including five three-pointers. Sharon Goodman had 13 points. Brynn Bodermann had 11 points, including three three-pointers. Emily Friesen had two points and seven assists.
